ChangeChecklist

Check a domain before and after you change it

Moving DNS, email, a website or a registrar is safest when you know exactly what was there before. Take a snapshot now, make the change, then check again to see what moved and what went missing.

What it checks

  • DNS from public resolvers: nameservers, A and AAAA, www, MX, SPF, DMARC and CAA.
  • HTTPS: whether the site answers, the certificate issuer, expiry and whether it covers the name.
  • The registry record: registrar, transfer lock, expiry date, nameservers and DNSSEC.

Questions

Does this change anything on my domain?
No. It only reads public information: DNS records anyone can look up, the certificate your website shows every visitor, and the public registry record (RDAP). It never signs in, never scans ports and never changes a setting.
Do you keep the results?
No. The server looks the records up and sends them back to your browser. It doesn't store or log the domain or the results. Your before snapshot is saved in this browser only, and you can delete it at any time.
Why are some TXT records not shown?
TXT records often hold verification codes for other services. Only SPF and DMARC values are shown. For the rest we keep a count, so you can still see if some went missing after a move.
Which domains can be checked?
Public domain names only. Internal names, IP addresses and private network addresses are refused.
