At Google Password Manager, before you leave

  1. Export passwords from Chrome on a computerBefore

In Chrome, go to More > Passwords and autofill > Google Password Manager > Settings. Scroll to Export passwords and select Download file.

  2. Delete the exported password fileAfter

If you don't delete the password file, anyone who uses the device can open it and see your passwords.

At LastPass, when you join

  1. Use a generic CSV if your manager isn't supportedBefore

If LastPass's on-screen import steps don't support your current password manager, you may be able to import a generic CSV file. Check first that your current manager can export to CSV.
