In California
Driver's license and ID
You can change the address on your California DL/ID card online through MyDMV, or mail a Change of Address (DMV14) form if you are not eligible online. No office visit is needed, and a new card is not issued when you change your address.
Vehicle registration
California DMV does not automatically update your address across documents, so a vehicle's address must be changed too. To do it online, add the vehicle to your MyDMV garage. You can change up to three vehicles with the same address in one transaction.
Voter registration
If you move, you can update your California voter registration by re-registering online, by submitting a paper voter registration application, or by sending a signed letter to your county elections official. If you already updated your address with DMV or the U.S. Postal Service, your registration is updated automatically.
Across the United States
Internal Revenue Service
Tell the IRS by using your new address when you file, by sending Form 8822 or a signed written statement, or by telling them in person or by phone.
Mail forwarding
Change your address with USPS online or at your local Post Office. Mail is then forwarded to your new address. Standard mail forwarding lasts 12 months.
