In Louisiana
Driver's license and ID
Louisiana law requires you to notify the Office of Motor Vehicles within 10 days of an address change. You must appear in person. Bring your driver's license, proof of residency, and proof of insurance for any vehicle you own. The address on your vehicle registration is not updated automatically, so have it corrected on your certificate of registration too.
Vehicle registration
Changing the address on your driver's license does not change the address on your vehicles. If you own a vehicle, the OMV says to have the address corrected on the certificate of registration.
Voter registration
If you moved within your parish, notify your parish registrar of voters office or make the changes online. You can also apply online, by mail, or in person at any registrar of voters office.

Internal Revenue Service
Tell the IRS by using your new address when you file, by sending Form 8822 or a signed written statement, or by telling them in person or by phone.
Mail forwarding
Change your address with USPS online or at your local Post Office. Mail is then forwarded to your new address. Standard mail forwarding lasts 12 months.
